Arsenal fans on Twitter agree with Merson that they can make top four
Some Arsenal fans think top four is attainable.
A return to the Champions League is nothing that the fans would have predicted before the season.
However, the Gunners are now seemingly backing themselves to do just that.
After just three Premier League games this season, Arsenal were propping up the table.
They hadn’t scored a goal and were 20th with zero points and a -9 goal difference.
Now, though, the Gunners have won three in a row and the fans are starting to believe in a top four finish.
It helps the fans to believe when Paul Merson has claimed in his Sky Sports column that he thinks they can do it.
The last two campaigns at The Emirates have seen Mikel Arteta’s side finish 8th.
To jump from back-to-back 8th placed finishes into the top four would be a huge achievement.
However, if the Gunners can start putting in consistent performances like the one from Sunday then anything is possible.
Some Arsenal fans think top four is attainable
Against Tottenham, Arteta’s Gunners were firing.
Arsenal were in fine form and blew their greatest rivals away with a fearsome display.
It’s all about consistency, though.
Should Arsenal put in another couple of performances like that either side of the upcoming international break then they’ll convince more people.
However, with four clear favourites to retain the Champions League places, Arsenal have their work cut out.
Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United are expected to finish in the top four.
It will take an incredible performance and a win against one of those sides for Arsenal to convince anyone of their own credentials.
Whilst the fans are believing, though, the good feeling at the club will only continue.

Yes if we keep the momentum going, and I think we need to involve lacazete too in the game cause the coach is fond of playing lokonga, Tavares and maitland Niles as a regular sub— Barack ‘O’ ceive (@Barackoceive) September 30, 2021
Definately!! We just need consistency at the highest level— Olorogun Karo (@karosayso) September 30, 2021
