Arsenal fans have admitted Hojbjerg is better than Xhaka.

Ahead of what promises to be a tough North London derby, the fans have been assessing the key matchups.

One of those battles set to take place in midfield is one that they’re seemingly worried about.

Looking ahead to the visit of Tottenham, the Arsenal fans have been comparing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Granit Xhaka.

Both players are fantastic on their day, yet the Gunners are worried as Spurs’ Dane is the better player.

Xhaka is a polarising figure at The Emirates.

The 28-year-old comes in for all sorts of stick from the fans but he can be relied upon.

Against Tottenham he will have to be on top of his game, though.

Fortunately, Xhaka will likely be paired alongside Thomas Partey, who has been fantastic for Arsenal recently.

The last time that these two sides met in competitive action it was the Gunners who came out on top.

Mikel Arteta’s side won 2-1 at The Emirates thanks to goals from Martin Odegaard and Alexandre Lacazette.

Hojbjerg lost out to Xhaka on that day at The Emirates.

In the Sky Sports player ratings from that game Xhaka was given a 7 to Hojbjerg’s 6.

Should Xhaka put in a similar performance and try and get one over the Lilywhites’ Dane then it would put the Gunners in good stead.

However, many of his own fans don’t believe that he’s the better player and will be hoping to avoid being overrun in the middle.
