Arsenal claimed a league double over Chelsea with a 1-0 win over the Blues at Stamford Bridge. The Gunners have leapfrogged Everton in the Premier League and now sit in eighth place.

Mikel Arteta’s men won the game thanks to a first-half goal from Emile Smith Rowe who was largely impressive throughout. It was another player who caught the eye on Twitter, however.

Thomas Partey has struggled during his first season in England. He has spent plenty of time out injured and when he has been called upon, he’s struggled to really get going.

The Ghanian was fantastic for Atletico Madrid, however, and the hope will be that it’s merely a blip. Indeed, against Chelsea this evening he turned in arguably his best performance in an Arsenal shirt.

Partey earns £250,000-a-week at the Emirates Stadium and supporters will hope he can start to repay such a salary next season.

The 27-year-old was in fine form against Chelsea and earned rave reviews from the fan base on Twitter. Here is what they had to say about the uncompromising midfielder after the game.
