Arsenal fans laud Gabriel Martinelli after friendly win over QPR

Arsenal defeated QPR yesterday in a behind closed doors friendly at London Colney. After the game, supporters have been discussing Gabriel Martinelli.

The Brazilian is turning into something of a misfit at the Emirates Stadium. He’s struggling to convince Mikel Arteta of his quality and it remains to be seen what the future holds.

The 20-year-old hasn’t featured in any of the team’s last five Premier League games and there has been some speculation over his future.

There are no official goalscorers mentioned from Arsenal’s 3-2 win yesterday. Football London claims that Martinelli starred, however, with Alexandre Lacazette and Ainsley Maitland-Niels featuring.

It has been claimed by some publications, however, that Martinelli scored twice.

Martinelli was expected to take the Premier League by storm after a standout maiden campaign during 2019/20.

An injury scuppered his chances of kicking on though and last season he was viewed as a peripheral figure.

In total, Martinelli has scored 12 times in 52 appearances for the Gunners and the fan base would love to see him feature more often.

Quite simply, he needs to play though. At 20 he needs to be kicking on and if that isn’t with Arsenal, he may need to head elsewhere.

What have Arsenal fans said about Martinelli?

Some claims have suggested he played really well yesterday and that bodes well for Arsenal.

In front of Arteta, he couldn’t have timed the performance any better and as a result, perhaps he’ll get some game time soon.

Arsenal fans are sticklers for seeing their young players shine and Martinelli falls into that category.

Following yesterday’s contest against Championship oppositions, we looked at what fans had to say about the talented Brazilian.
