Arsenal fans appear to hold Lucas Torreira in even higher regard because he is the exact type of player their club lacked for so long in the later years of Arsene Wenger’s reign.
The Uruguayan is an energetic ball-winner and he has brought the best out of Granit Xhaka alongside him as well; the combative duo had too much for Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.
Unai Emery’s side again found themselves behind at half-time – they have not led at the interval in any of their Premier League games so far this season – but roared back to turn Spurs’ 2-1 lead into a 4-2 victory within just 45 minutes.
The Emirates Stadium was rocking in a way not seen during the Wenger era as the Gunners leapt ahead of their bitterest rivals in the league table.

But it was Torreira who drew that special acclaim after he topped a second straight man of the match performance with the fourth goal which put the game beyond Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Their supporters took to Twitter to show the love for the Uruguayan destroyer once again and he is fast becoming a cult hero in the red half of north London.
