Arsenal set themselves up well for next Thursday’s Europa League semi-final second leg against Valencia with a 3-1 home leg victory over Valencia last night.
The Gunners got off to a shaky start, conceding after 11 minutes, but they were in front 14 minutes later thanks to a double from Alexandre Lacazette.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang got a potentially crucial third goal, giving Arsenal a two-goal lead to take to Spain next week, but it was Lacazette who hauled them back into the tie.
If the Gunners can repeat their performance from the quarter-final away trip to Napoli, they’ll be in the final in Baku on 29 May.

But in the shape of Lacazette and Aubameyang, they have every right to think they can get a goal in the Mestalla Stadium next week.
The supporters were keen to praise the Frenchman’s display last night in a competition that likely represents Arsenal’s best chance now of making it into the Champions League next season.
