Arsenal fans 'fuming' as £15m star shines at the Emirates Stadium

Arsenal produced a late show last night to deny Odsonne Edouard the winning goal against a team who were linked with signing him in the summer.

Ultimately, the Gunners opted not to bolster their ranks with a striker and as a result, Crystal Palace landed a bargain.

At just £15 million, the youngster already looks like a steal from Celtic. He has scored three goals in five appearances for the Eagles and is growing under Patrick Vieira.

A late strike from Alexandre Lacazette robbed the 23-year-old of a night to remember at the Emirates Stadium.

GIVE VIEIRA THE MAN CITY JOB.

Despite trailing at the break, goals from Christian Benteke and then Edouard’s tremendous strike saw Palace hit the front.

The striker was a goal machine for Celtic. He arrived at the club in 2017 and blasted 86 goals in 179 appearances; helping the Hoops claim three league titles.

Given that his valuation was relatively low, Palace did well to get him ahead of bigger clubs in the Premier League.

Arsenal aren’t in Europe this season and with Lacazette out of contract next summer, Edouard could have proved ideal.

The former France under-21 international earns around £70,000-a-week at Selhurst Park; a fraction of what Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang collect at Arsenal.

Furthermore, on last night’s showing, the Gunners missed a big trick in the summer transfer window.

What have Arsenal fans said about Edouard?

It seems as though the fan base were expecting their former transfer target to produce the goods last night.

Many supporters wanted Edouard signed and as a result, they can’t believe he was allowed to join Palace for just £15 million.

With Arsenal enduring a turbulent period, fans aren’t surprised that Edouard provided a reminder of what the Gunners missed out on.

With that in mind, here is what the Arsenal fan base had to say about Edouard after he silenced the Emirates Stadium last night.
