Arsenal fans fume as Luis Campos is reportedly offered informal role with club
Luis Campos could be joining Arsenal on an informal basis according to reports.
Football London report that the former Lille Sporting Director would not be a replacement for Edu should the Gunners decide to hire the Portuguese figure.
Luis Campos is one of the best in the business
Campos has been out of football since December 2020 after leaving his role with the Ligue 1 champions. Furthermore, Campos is highly regarded for his ability to sign players for cheap and move them on for a tidy profit.
Indeed, Arsenal themselves are proof of Campos’ scouting ability. The Gunners signed both Gabriel and Nicolas Pepe from Lille for big fees , with the northern French side using that money to reinvest and build a title-winning squad.
Supporters on social media are eager for Campos to come in to replace Edu at the club. But this latest update had fans fuming that the former Arsenal player will likely stay in his current position as Technical Director.
Here’s what some supporters had to say about the latest on Campos on Twitter…
Why would he even consider such an approach? Foolishness at its best.— harshil kachhawa (@harshilkachhawa) June 3, 2021

Makes no sense to have both Edu and Campos doing more or less the same job.
How bad is Edu at his job? Arteta promoted to manager because he’s so useless. Then Garlick brought in because he can’t negotiate his way out of a plastic bag, now Campos on an informal basis because Edu can’t do squad building? How terrible is Edu at his job?!— Wajday 🇵🇸 (@AFCWajday) June 3, 2021
Edu was appointed Technical Director in the summer of 2019. Since then, the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Pablo Mari and Willian have joined the club because of the influence of the Brazilian figure.
