Arsenal fans felt one player was a positive from 3-0 defeat to Liverpool

Arsenal suffered a comprehensive defeat against Liverpool on Saturday night – but some of the club’s fans on Twitter did at least feel Thomas Partey was one positive for them.

The Gunners were beaten 3-0 at home to Liverpool in the Premier League, with the visitors enjoying 64 per cent possession at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta’s side barely got going during the match with only three attempted shots, as last year’s league winners ran all over them.

The Liverpool pressure eventually told in the second half when Diogo Jota (two) and Mohamed Salah scored for the Merseyside outfit.

The result meant that Liverpool climbed to fifth in the league table, while Arsenal are ninth in the standings facing a huge ask just to even finish in the European positions.

Arsenal need to quickly put the weekend result behind them ahead of the Europa League quarter-final tie against Slavia Prague on Thursday, but it was a really crushing result.

A selection of Gunners fans on social media felt their central midfielder Partey was the only individual to show something positive during the 90 minutes.

The 27-year-old central midfielder battled away with tackles and interceptions, but was ultimately outnumbered and overrun.

Here are some Arsenal fans at least hailing Partey’s effort:
