'It's disgraceful, 'Don't get it': Some Arsenal fans raging at 'unbelievable' Arteta decision
Arsenal were beaten 2-1 by Everton last night and one Mikel Arteta decision left the supporters absolutely flabbergasted.
The Gunners were winning at the interval after Martin Odegaard’s goal just before the break.
It all went wrong in the second 45 though and a dogged Everton performance saw them turn the game on its head.
Richarlison equalised for the Toffees with Demarai Gray’s unbelievable effort going in off the post deep into injury time.
It once again leaves Arteta to field some uncomfortable questions and fans aren’t happy that Nicolas Pepe didn’t get on the pitch.
The Ivorian watched on as Eddie Nketiah was introduced before him.
Nothing against the Hale End star but he has reportedly turned down a new deal at the club; yet Arteta is persisting on giving him minutes.
Pepe has now failed to get on the pitch during the last five Premier League matches.
That represents a concern and fans just don’t understand why the 26-year-old can’t get a look in under Arteta.
His pace and trickery might have helped Arsenal get a foot on the ball last night but the boss wasn’t having any of it.
Pepe decision is baffling for Arsenal supporters
After costing in excess of £70 million it’s definitely strange that he can’t get a kick even when Arsenal are chasing games.
The winger earns £140,000-a-week at the Emirates Stadium and he’s neither use nor ornament sat on the bench every week.
Arsenal fans were keen to see Pepe get a run out once Everton equalised last night but that never materialised.
His face was a picture when Arteta gave Nketiah the nod and he’s received some sympathy from the Gunners fans.
Here is what they had to say on Twitter.
