Arsenal fans discuss where Dani Ceballos should fit into XI

Arsenal re-signed Dani Ceballos in the summer on a second loan deal from Real Madrid – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have been debating where he fits into the midfield.

Ceballos particularly impressed in the second half of last season at the Emirates Stadium and the Gunners now have him for a second year on loan from Madrid.

The 24-year-old is a highly-rated player that grew into a key performer for Mikel Arteta’s side last season and he’s starting to impress again at the start of this new campaign.

He is a versatile central midfielder that is extremely technical on the ball and has great vision, but can do the other defensive side of the game too with his aggressive tackling and all-action approach.

The Spain international is already competing for a starting position with some quality Arsenal teammates and there is a new face that will be thrown into the mix after the two-week break.

Thomas Partey, 27, completed his move to North London from Atletico Madrid on transfer deadline day and he’s a defensive midfielder proven on the elite stage.

His arrival could completely mix up the balance of the midfield and he’ll be competing alongside the likes of Ceballos, Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny for a starting role.

A selection of Arsenal supporters on social media have been talking about the Spaniard’s best position and how he can be used by Arteta, amid all the competition in the squad.

There are some who have suggested he could be moved forward into a creative number 10 role, while others prefer him starting from deep to link up the play.

It’s clear that they want to find a way of squeezing him into the XI and one compared him to ex-favourite playmaker Santi Cazorla.
