Arsenal are reportedly battling four other Premier League clubs in the race to sign Gabriel Barbosa – and Gunners fans have reacted on Twitter.

Barbosa, also known as Gabigol, has been sensational in Brazilian football after previously failing to make it work in Europe, at Inter Milan.

Having sparkled for Santos, he joined Inter but only played 10 times – scoring once. He went on loan to Benfica, scoring once in five games.

Since joining Flamengo he has been incredible – netting an enormous 84 goals in 122 games. Last night, he scored in a 2-1 win over Ceara.

90Min report that he is willing to leave at the end of the Brazilian season, which finishes on December 10. A January move to England appeals.

Flamengo want £30million for their striker, with Arsenal, Everton, Aston Villa, West Ham, Newcastle, Leverkusen and Unai Emery’s Villarreal keen.

What are Arsenal fans saying about a potential move for Gabigol?

The Gunners could do with a striker. Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette more and more likely that they will be leaving the club soon.

Both are out of contract in June, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang turns 33 at the end of the season. He has failed to score in his last four games.

Arsenal need a striker, and Folarin Balogun is not yet good enough to be entrusted with leading the line. Taking a risk on Gabigol might just work.

Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports that the Gunners are considering the Brazilian – and many want him at The Emirates.
