Calum Chambers scored with his first touch last night as Arsenal defeated Leeds to head into the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup.

The defender stepped off the bench to replace the ill Ben White and took just 23 seconds to register a goal.

Former Leeds loanee Eddie Nketiah wrapped up the victory with a second and that was all she wrote for a pretty hopeless Marcelo Bielsa outfit.

Arsenal have been in good form. It will have pleased Mikel Arteta that despite ringing some changes, his team were still playing with confidence.

Chambers has hardly been seen this season but his impact was certainly telling from the bench.

It was, however, a first-team regular who caught the eye. White may have been forced off just after half-time but his performance was fantastic.

Some supporters had their reservations over the £50 million price tag. After a debut to forget against Brentford, some were hoping that a receipt had been kept!

He’s really kicked on now though and last night he earned rave reviews despite the fact he had to head off prior to the end.

White is a former Leeds loanee and he showcased exactly what Bielsa is missing in his team right now.

The youngster looks tailor-made for a ball-playing defensive role and he was very impressive last night.
