Arsenal secured a second successive win on Tuesday night as they narrowly held on to a 1-0 win over Brighton on the south coast – and Gunners supporters have discussed the performance of defender Pablo Mari.

The Gunners came into the match with their tails up, having returned to form following a brilliant 3-1 win over London rivals Chelsea – who themselves are in a spell of dismal form. They faced Brighton, who are also struggling.

However, Mikel Arteta’s side looked as though their confidence had been restored on Tuesday night – despite going through what was a very equal match. Brighton, certainly, has just as many efforts on goal.

The only goal of the game came midway through the second half, as another of Arteta’s young guns – this time in Bukayo Saka who went on an excellent run and reached the byline before crossing for Alexandre Lacazette.

Meanwhile at the back, the combination of Mari and Rob Holding continued to be a success. Despite 27-year-old Mari managing just his fifth Arsenal game since his loan became permanent for £14million (Mail), he impressed.

The duo kept Neal Maupay quiet throughout and finished the match with Arsenal’s fourth clean sheet in the Premier League this season. Certainly, Mari was excellent and deserves the praises of Arsenal fans – which he got.
