Arsenal fans discuss Matteo Guendouzi as Marseille win
Matteo Guendouzi scored twice and created another as the Arsenal loanee helped Marseille win 4-1 on Sunday – and Arsenal fans have responded.
Guendouzi, 22, has had a hand in five goals in nine games for Marseille since joining the club on loan in the summer. He scored twice on Sunday.
The France Under-21 ace has started eight of Marseille’s nine league games, captaining the club in a recent 2-0 defeat to French side Lille.
Clocking up 14 points from a possible 18 in their first six games, Marseille then lost two on the trot. But Guendouzi made sure it was not three.
The midfielder scored two of Marseille’s four goals and created another against Lorient – playing from the right of midfield on Sunday.
WhoScored say he attempted more dribbles, laid on two key passes, and completed 58 of his 62 passes. A brilliant performance.
What are Arsenal fans saying about Guendouzi, after Sunday?
The Standard report that there is a permanent clause in Guendouzi’s loan deal at Marseille. There is a fee of £10million needed to sign him.
Arsenal have options in midfield now. Granit Xhaka stayed, Albert Lokonga joined, Thomas Partey is settling. They are sorting out an identity.
What are Arsenal fans saying? Regardless of the clause, of their current midfield, many Arsenal fans want Guendouzi back.
