Arsenal fans discuss Martin Odegaard display vs Burnley
A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the performance of Martin Odegaard after the Gunners endured a frustrating afternoon against Burnley on Sunday.
Mikel Arteta’s men go into the break having not won in their last five. Even more worryingly, they have not scored a goal in their last four.
Of course, that winless run has included two games against Liverpool, as well as one against Manchester City. But failing to score against Nottingham Forest and now Burnley will alarm many at the Emirates.

Arsenal had the chances to win against the Clarets. However, they struggled to make the most of their opportunities. And when they did hit the target, Nick Pope produced some superb stops.
One of those came from Odegaard. The Norwegian was denied in the first-half. And he came close to breaking the deadlock from a free-kick after the interval.
No player seemed to do more to try and get Arsenal across the line. In fact, Odegaard was the best performer for key passes on either side, according to Whoscored.
Interestingly, he also won more tackles than any other Arsenal player.
Some insisted that Arsenal are worse off when Odegaard is deployed in the deeper role in the midfield. He started alongside Albert Sambi Lokonga behind the front four against Burnley.
But many felt that Odegaard was better than most on a disappointing day for Arsenal. Several suggested that he was one of the few players who could hold his head up high.

It has been a tough time for Arteta since the turn of the year. But Odegaard is one player who has stepped up. And plenty of fans have suggested that his recent contribution cannot be questioned.
With that in mind, here is what some of the Arsenal fans said about Odegaard’s display…
Odegaard is by far our best player yet he doesn’t get enough respect for it

Odegaard and maybe Lokonga are the only players that should keep their head high

odegaard clearly has to be captain next season btw. no-one is even close to his level of influence on the pitch

Odegaard is the only player who we can rely on.

Only Odegaard and Smith Rowe can be proud today. I don’t see why these players insist on side-to-side passing when we’re in need of a goal. No urgency man

Odegaard good once again, WE NEED A GOALSCORER

Can’t do much else when the only midfielder who wanted to show up today was Odegaard

Odegaard has gone up a level. Only one who can progress from deep, but we need him higher up. ESR struggling in his own half.
