Arsenal fans discuss Manchester United star Anthony Martial, after agent comments

Manchester United star Anthony Martial’s agent has declared that his client wants to leave Old Trafford in the summer – and Arsenal fans have responded on Twitter to the comments.

Martial, 26, has spent the last six years at Manchester United, clocking up 79 goals and 50 assists in 268 appearances for Ralf Rangnick’s side. 56 of those 79 goals have come in the Premier League.

Football London, among others, reported back in September that Arsenal were keeping tabs on Martial’s situation at United. The France international has a contract until the summer of 2024 at Old Trafford.

Now, Philippe Lamboley – Martial’s agent – has told Sky Sports News that the ex-Monaco man wants to leave Manchester United in the coming we. Eurosport say he could be available for just £40million.

“Anthony wishes to leave the club in January,” Martial’s agent told SSN. “He just needs to play. He doesn’t want to stay in January and I will speak to the club soon.”

Martial is a top striker. When being used regularly, there is no doubt that the Frenchman is easily good enough for a top-six Premier League side – and Arsenal certainly could do with a forward.

Both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract at the end of the season. They look more than likely to leave the club either next month, or in June. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is now 33.

So, the Gunners need a striker and Martial might be ideal – if United would be willing to sell the Frenchman to one of their biggest rivals in Arsenal. Gunners fans are all for the move.
