Arsenal fans discuss Christopher Nkunku’s display against Manchester United

Christopher Nkunku helped RB Leipzig progress into the knockout rounds of the Champions League with a 3-2 win over Manchester United on Tuesday evening in Germany – and Arsenal fans have discussed his performance.

Manchester United were tasked with avoiding defeat to qualify for the last 16 but failed to do that – despite a late fightback. Manchester City loanee Angelino gave Julian Nagelsmann’s side the lead after just two minutes.

It was 2-0 moments later, as Amadou Haidara volleyed home an Angelino cross on 13 minutes. With United pushing, it looked as if Justin Kluivert had sent Leipzig through with a chip. David De Gea dallied, and it was 3-0.

Nkunku got the assist for the third, and while Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba scored, Leipzig held on. Assist machine Nkunku, 23, will now be looking forward to the knockout stages – United will play in the Europa League.

But Arsenal may have a say in that. Bild claim Arsenal are rivalling Lyon for the midfielder’s signature after he has laid on 20 assists in 60 outings. The Gunners have watched him, and it is believed Nkunku is rated at £36million.

Arsenal supporters have reacted on Twitter to Nkunku’s display for Leipzig on Tuesday night, and many have urged their club to bring the technically-gifted Frenchman to The Emirates in January.
