Arsenal fans desperate to see Emile Smith Rowe against Standard Liege

Arsenal travel to Belgian outfit Standard Liege on Thursday evening in the Europa League group stages – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are desperate to see Emile Smith Rowe recalled.

The Gunners face Standard Liege in their final game of the group and it would take an unlikely 5-0 defeat for them to be eliminated from Europe.

But the North London club know a victory will see them top the group and that’s a great incentive to avoid the Champions League dropouts when the knockout rounds start.

A selection of Arsenal supporters on social media believe that Smith Rowe should be promoted to the starting XI.

The 19-year-old has only played in three senior games across all competitions this season and has had some injury problems, but has travelled with the first-team squad to face Standard Liege.

He is an attacking midfielder that can play in wide or central positions and is creative with his fast dribbling and eye for goal.

The Englishman does have stiff competition to break into the side, but two of his three senior appearances this season have been in the Europa League.
