Arsenal fans desperate for Martin Odegaard to start against Leeds

Arsenal host Leeds United on Sunday in the Premier League – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter are urging their manager Mikel Arteta to play Martin Odegaard.

The Gunners go into the weekend’s fixture off the back of one point from their previous three games, which is why they are currently sat 11th in the league table.

Meanwhile, opponents Leeds have three wins in their last five matches and are a point above them positioned 10th in the table.

The two teams played out a goalless draw at Elland Road back in November earlier in the season, with not much settling the clubs this campaign.

A selection of Arsenal supporters on social media feel that this Sunday is the perfect time to give Odegaard his first start.

Odegaard, 22, joined the North London club in the January window on loan from Real Madrid for the rest of the season.

The attacking midfielder has come off the bench in his first two appearances for the club, but is yet to really show his talent to the Premier League.

He’s an £85,000-a-week playmaker that has previously shown he’s a top talent in La Liga, but it remains to be seen if Arteta can start him in the same XI as English creator Emile Smith Rowe.
