Arsenal face Olympiacos on Thursday evening in the Europa League – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter claim that Nicolas Pepe needs to be recalled to the starting XI.

Pepe, who is a club record £72million signing (BBC), has been used by the Gunners from the bench in the last three consecutive matches across all competitions.

But some Arsenal supporters want manager Mikel Arteta to start the 25-year-old tomorrow.

The North London club go into the second leg with Greek side Olympiacos with a strong 3-1 aggregate lead, which is made even better by the fact they have three away goals.

They were knocked out by the same opponent though last year though, so will be wary in the Europa League last-16 second leg tie.

A selection of Arsenal supporters on social media feel Pepe is deserving of a start this week.

The right-winger is unfortunately behind teenage sensation Bukayo Saka in the pecking order for his preferred position, but in the past couple of months has looked impressive when given a chance.

He’s a left-footed wide player that does have eight goals in 33 matches across all competitions this season. Additionally, he usually gives his team great delivery when he plays.

Here are some Gunners fans discussing Pepe:
