Arsenal fans’ joy over the signing of Gabriel Martinelli was short-lived, with Tottenham Hotspur officially announcing the capture of Tanguy Ndombele just hours later.
The Gunners made their first signing of the summer in the form of the Brazilian teenager, who cost in the region of £6 million from Ituano (The Telegraph).

The highly rated attacker is capable of playing on either flank, or through the middle as a striker.
Martinelli will apparently be sent to the club’s academy in order to continue his development rather than be thrust straight into the first-team.
He is very much one for the future, and many Gunners fans were delighted that their club were finally able to announce someone.

That delight, though, has been extinguished for many, with bitter rivals Spurs confirming the signing of midfielder Ndombele from Lyon for a club-record fee of £65 million (Sky Sports).
Arsenal fans react
Lots of Arsenal fans online were unable to fully enjoy their own club’s business thanks to Spurs’ mega-money signing.
Ndombele is a massive coup for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, and many Gooners know it:
