Arsenal fans credit Kieran Tierney despite defeat against Everton
Arsenal suffered yet another defeat on Saturday to pile even more pressure on manager Mikel Arteta – but some of the club’s fans on Twitter did at least find one positive from the efforts of defender Kieran Tierney.
The Gunners were beaten 2-1 at Goodison Park away to Everton, which means they have just 14 points from their opening 14 league games.
Nicolas Pepe’s penalty in the 35th minute had cancelled out Rob Holding’s early own goal, but Yerry Mina’s header on the stroke of half-time turned out to be the match-winner for the Merseyside club.
The North London club had 58 per cent possession and pressed for an equaliser in the second-half, but ultimately it was a similar case of not enough creativity on the pitch for them.

Meanwhile, Everton temporarily jumped up to second in the league standings and are having an excellent season.

A selection of Arsenal fans on social media believe that Tierney is one individual that can hold his head up high after the club’s eight league defeat of the season.
The 23-year-old left-footer was used as a left-sided centre-back and did his best to support the attack with crosses into the ball, but in the end they were in vein.
Here are some Arsenal fans discussing Tierney:
Maitland-Niles and Tierney mostly pretty good today. Don't get what Smith-Rowe has to do to earn a start. Excited to see Martinelli back.

Saka and Tierney only ones fit to wear the shirt.

Tierney and AMN are the only ones that looked like they belong in the shirt tonight. Martinelli had a nice little cameo too
