Arsenal fans can't get over this stat following Martinelli heroics in Crystal Palace win
Arsenal supporters are scratching their heads in disbelief over an incredible stat that was uncovered following last night’s 3-1 win against Crystal Palace.
Nicolas Pepe and Gabriel Martinelli were the heroes on the night as the two attackers pushed the Gunners through to victory in Roy Hodgson’s last home game in charge as manager of Palace.
Though following from the full-time whistle, a stat from AFC Stuff surfaced on Twitter showing off a remarkable achievement.
The stat revealed that Arsenal have never lost a Premier League game in which a teenage player has scored in, with the Gunners winning 50 out of the 60 matches such an occurrence has happened. Martinelli, who is 19-years-old, scored the vital goal last night to put Arsenal back in front against Palace.
Arsenal have a proud history of bringing in youth players, with Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe two of the club’s best performing names this season, yet this stat was met with surprise from supporters on social media.
