Arsenal host Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday evening in the Premier League – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter have responded by claiming they want to see Mohamed Elneny recalled to the side.

The 28-year-old has been self-isolating since international duty, but the club confirmed on their official website on Saturday that he’s been cleared to play and is available for selection against Wolves.

Elneny, who earns £50,000-a-week (Spotrac), has had to watch the Gunners in their last two matches, but is an option once again for manager Mikel Arteta.

The Egyptian midfielder has already played 11 first-team games this season already after forcing his way back into contention at the Emirates Stadium and is someone with an amazing work-rate for 90 minutes.

It was a midfield combination of Dani Ceballos, Granit Xhaka and Joe Willock in the last league fixture in the 0-0 draw with Leeds United.

But Elneny is a no-nonsense enforcer that will be hoping he regains his place and that’s also the wish of several Arsenal supporters on social media, who are relieved to see him available.

The North London club go into the Wolves fixture under pressure having won just four of their opening nine league matches and team selection is going to be crucial against a Wolves team who on their day are a top side.
