Thomas Partey is edging closer to a return for Arsenal. He is yet to feature this season after picking up an injury in pre-season and the Gunners fan base are desperate to see him back in action.

The Ghanaian midfielder has been a loss to Mikel Arteta. He has overseen three straight defeats in the Premier League, losing to Brentford, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Some good news is emerging from the Emirates. Yesterday, some photos emerged of Partey back in Arsenal training. The Gunners face Norwich after the international break and the 28-year-old will aim to be fit.

The former Atletico Madrid man struggled for consistency last season. He was in and out of the team after picking up several niggling injuries. Partey will aim to showcase his true talent to Arsenal fans once he is fit this season.

In total, Partey made 188 appearances for Atletico. He helped the club to a league title and also to two Champions League finals during his time in Spain.

Arsenal will want to see some of that level of quality in their midfield ranks. Arteta made Partey a number one target shortly after taking over, finally getting his man last summer.

What have Arsenal fans said about Partey?

It’s fair to say they’re pretty happy. Arsenal are in desperate need of a lift and having Partey back could certainly provide them with one.

The Gunners simply have to beat Norwich this weekend. They’re already at the foot of the Premier League and can’t afford to stutter any further.

Arteta is under pressure to turn things around and they have to start picking up points quickly.

Having Partey back would certainly be ideal. The midfield engine room does lose something when he doesn’t feature and Arteta will have a decision to make this weekend.

Here is a look at what supporters have been saying as the 28-cap player edges closer to a return to action.
