Arsenal booked their spot in the Europa League quarter-finals on Thursday night – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were left praising Martin Odegaard for his individual performance.
The Gunners were beaten in the game 1-0 against Greek opposition Olympiacos, but did enough over the two-legged tie to progress in the competition.
Mikel Arteta’s side recorded the 3-2 aggregate victory, as they avenged the defeat to Olympiacos from last year.
The North London club may feel a little disappointed they didn’t put the tie completely to bed earlier on.
It was a night of frustration for the attackers, as they failed to score after 12 shots and five shots on target during the 90 minutes.

A selection of Arsenal fans on social media did find a major positive from the display of Odegaard despite a loss in the second leg, with one even mocking Chelsea by comparing him to their attacker Kai Havertz.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder entered the action as a substitute during the second half, adding some extra creativity in the final third and showing why so many want his loan deal from Real Madrid to turn into a permanent one in the summer.
He was unfortunate not to get an assist under his belt, but it’s a match the Arsenal forward line will want to quickly forget.
Here are some Gunners fans discussing the contribution from Norwegian playmaker Odegaard:
