Arsenal fans bemused over ‘confusing’ report about Joe Willock’s future

A group of Arsenal fans have reacted with bemusement to news that the north London giants are unsure over the future of loanee Joe Willock.

In a report by Chronicle Live, it is being claimed that, despite his impressive loan spell with Newcastle United, the Gunners are unsure what to do with the England youth international.

Willock has scored four times across just 10 Premier League games for Steve Bruce’s side. However, reports have claimed he could be set for a permanent exit from the Emirates Stadium this summer.

The Telegraph claimed back in April that the club would demand £20m for the towering midfielder should the north-west outfit want to sign the towering midfielder.

The ace’s form has earned him praise from manager, Mikel Arteta, who opened the door for a return to the first-team set-up ahead of next season.

Meanwhile, compared to the £14.4m-rated 21-year-old’s goal-scoring achievements with the Geordies, Arsenal’s midfielders have combined to score just three top-flight goals this campaign.

Willock’s goal-scoring prowess has been well-noted since the youngster moved into the first-team back in September of 2017.

He has been likened to former Gunner Aaron Ramsey in the past and, with Arteta’s side lacking goal-scorers from midfield, a potential sale of the ace would be disastrous.
