Arsenal fans have taken to social media after Real Madrid president Florentino Perez revealed he believes Zinedine Zidane will stay at the club next season, opening the door for Martin Odegaard to join the north London club on a permanent deal.

In an interview with Spanish radio station El Larguero via Madrid Zone, the La Liga figurehead admitted that he ‘can’t imagine’ Zidane leaving Los Blancos soon, and that the former France captain will remain in his current post for the start of next season.

The news was music to the ears of Arsenal fans as Fabrizio Romano reported last month that Zidane’s future would be key to the Gunners signing the Norweigian playmaker on a full-time basis, with the 22-year-old midfielder having a successful time in north London since his loan move to the Premier League club in the January transfer window.

And Arsenal supporters on social media were buzzing to hear this latest update from Perez. Here’s what some had to say on Twitter about what the Real Madrid president said on Zidane…

Odegaard has impressed since joining Arsenal on-loan, with the youngster scoring in both the UEFA Europa League against Olympiakos as well as in the North London Derby.
