Arsenal fans back £13m ‘Lamborghini’ to become one of the world’s best players after his display vs Port Vale

Arsenal fans hailed one of their recent bargain buys after his impressive display in the Carabao Cup clash against Port Vale.

Arsenal ran out 2-0 winners over Port Vale in Wednesday’s third-round clash at Vale Park, with the first goal coming on eight minutes.

Gabriel Martinelli threaded the ball through to Eberechi Eze, via a Myles Lewis-Skelly nudge, and the former Crystal Palace man coolly slotted home.

Leandro Trossard then scored just five minutes after coming on as a substitute to wrap up victory for Mikel Arteta’s side.

While it wasn’t a vintage Arsenal display against a determined Valiants outfit, there were quite a few players who did well.

Arsenal fans hail Cristhian Mosquera display vs Port Vale

Cristhian Mosquera was solid for most of the encounter, prompting Arsenal fans to celebrate his quality along with his bargain price tag.

Indeed, some supporters claimed he has what it takes to become better than William Saliba.

“I’ve seen enough – Mosquera is better than Saliba,” one fan wrote on X.

“But fans won’t say it, composure on the ball, better decisions, a better progressive passer.”

Another supporter said: “Mosquera will become one of the best centre-backs in the world in a year.

“He will be better than Saliba and Gabriel.”

The praise for Mosquera kept coming, with one fan saying: “Cristhian Mosquera is excellent!

“Should’ve started over Saliba this weekend! He’s got ice in his veins!”

Another supporter wrote: “I keep saying it but Mosquera is such a player. What a steal.”

Another fan said: “Mosquera is playing better than Saliba rn if we’re picking off form.”

The one mistake Cristhian Mosquera did vs Port Vale

Admittedly, Mosquera’s display wasn’t flawless, with one error coming late on in the game.

The £13million man relayed a long pass across his own half, but it failed to find the target, with a Vale player intercepting it.

Luckily it came to nothing, but it was certainly a scare for Mosquera, who had been pretty much perfect up until that point.

At the same time, Arsenal fans noted how that was probably the first error they had seen from him, which suggests that such mistakes are few and far between.

While big-money signings seem to be all the rage in modern-day football, Mosquera shows that there are still players available for relatively low sums that can go on to shine.

Should Mosquera continue on this trajectory, there’s no reason why he can’t become a fixture in Arsenal’s starting XI over the next year or two.
