Arsenal are now six points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool after they threw away a two-goal lead in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium.
Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring in the 35th minute before Kai Havertz doubled Arsenal’s lead on 55 minutes.
However, Arsenal conceded just five minutes later when Youri Tielemans headed home following Lucas Digne’s pinpoint cross from the left.
Then, Villa got their equaliser in the 68th minute, Matty Cash whipping the ball in for Ollie Watkins to slam home.
During the game, a number of Arsenal fans made their feelings clear about Thomas Partey, who was named at right-back by Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal fans don’t want to see Thomas Partey at right-back any more
Arsenal fans expressed their frustrations with Partey playing at right-back, noting how he lost his man – Watkins – for the equaliser.
One fan said: “Until we stop playing Partey at RB, we will keep losing points. It hasn’t worked, it will never work.”
Another wrote: “I’d put Tierney in at RB. Partey is just not good enough. If anything put Martinelli at RB, Sterling at RW.”
The criticism kept coming, with one fan saying: “I just hope today will be the last day we see Partey at RB, that equalizer was on him.”
Another wrote: “I’m asking, Why Arteta doesn’t do simple? Kiwior for Saliba… Timber at RB and Partey in midfield?”
A different fan said: “Partey never works in RB, Timber never works in CB but Mikel Arteta insists on playing them out of position when he has a natural CB in Kiwior.”
Another added: “I don’t understand why Kiwior is not playing at CB and Timber as RB. Partey at RB is not the best thing, Partey as CDM is the best position.”
How Partey fared against Villa
Partey was partly to blame for both goals and was also nearly punished with a really poor throw-in that went straight to Watkins.
Admittedly, Partey did win most of his duels, and he set up Mikel Merino with a good through-ball that went to waste, but overall, his display was poor.

With Arsenal now six points behind a Liverpool side who have a game in hand, the mission to win the title has just become much harder.
The experiment of Partey at right-back has failed more times than it has succeeded and this is something Arteta needs to rectify.
