Noni Madueke was called back into the Arsenal line-up away at Anfield with Bukayo Saka sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Mikel Arteta’s team suffered a disappointing defeat against Liverpool as Dominik Szoboszlai’s incredible free-kick secured a vital win.

Arsenal will be gutted to have come away from the Premier League champions empty-handed, having played so well in the first half.

But as for Madueke, his display on Merseyside has plenty of supporters talking, and the message is clear.

Arsenal fans impressed by Noni Madueke vs Liverpool

Arsenal fans were so impressed by Noni Madueke’s display against Liverpool as the winger caused Milos Kerkez plenty of problems.

The Gunners’ supporters were impressed with how direct he was in transition against the Premier League champions.

Throughout the majority of the match at Anfield, the former Chelsea star was often the most threatening player for the North London club.

Gary Neville was impressed by Madueke when he switched to the right wing against Leeds United and against the Reds, he once again looked strong.

Saka’s injury has made Madueke key for Arteta’s side, and away at Liverpool, the 23-year-old stepped up when his team needed him.

During the game, Arsenal fans took to X to share their thoughts on the winger’s display against Liverpool and were very impressed.

One fan said: “Madueke is our most threatening player by a country mile. So direct and quick. We should be feeding him the ball at every opportunity.”

“Really enjoyed Madueke’s performance. Direct, fast, very one-track thought process on what he wants from his one-versus-ones,” claimed another.

“Madueke has been our outlet, he’s quick, direct and very good in one-versus-one situations, too.”

“Madueke just proved that he does what Martinelli can do but better…. A fast dribbler who doesn’t mind beating the player, letting off a shot or getting the ball to the box straight away.”

Arsenal hope Saka will be back soon to face Nottingham Forest, and he is likely to retake his place at right wing if he’s fit.

But against Liverpool, Madueke has certainly shown signs that he can step up for the Gunners should Saka encounter any other issues this season.

How Eberechi Eze did on his Arsenal debut vs Liverpool

Eberechi Eze came on to replace Gabriel Martinelli in the 70th minute, with the Brazilian having struggled at a ground where he is often so good.

The forward had a great chance to score an equaliser, but failed to pull the trigger in time, and Liverpool’s defence dealt with him.

Arteta might be ruing the fact that he didn’t bring the forward on earlier with his side having been in the ascendancy at Anfield.

It was a tough place for him to make his debut, but it’s clear that he could become the Gunners’ first-choice left winger ahead of Martinelli.
