Arsenal take on Leicester City at the weekend in what could be a cracker of a game.
The Gunners have been stuttering of late – winning just one of their last six matches in all competitions.
By contrast, the Foxes have been flying under Brendan Rodgers and sit third in the Premier League table.
Leicester are full of confidence right now, with several of their first-team stars in excellent form.
The Premier League’s current top goalscorer Jamie Vardy has been grabbing a lot of the headlines, but his supporting cast all deserve credit – especially Youri Tielemans.
The Belgian joined the club permanently for £40 million this summer (BBC Sport) and has been making that figure look an absolute snip.
Interestingly, Tielemans turned down a move to Arsenal in 2017 (The Sun), joining AS Monaco from Anderlecht instead.
He was linked again earlier this year (Daily Star), but the player’s heart was set on the King Power.
TBR’s view – Arsenal’s Tielemans regret
Perhaps there was little they could really do in the end, but Arsenal must wish Tielemans was their player right about now.
Tielemans has been shining week in week out for the Foxes, operating effectively in a box-to-box role.
His energy and creativity make him really stand out from other midfielders in the Premier League, and it must pain the Gunners to see him flourishing after they’ve just had to strip Granit Xhaka of the captaincy.
