Arsenal are set for a mass clear-out of their unwanted stars this summer, with seven players told they aren’t part of Unai Emery’s plans, according to The Mirror.
High profile players Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are among the players set to depart. Mohamed Elneny, Shkodran Mustafi, David Ospina, Carl Jenkinson and Calum Chambers are also surplus at the Emirates.
Defender Chambers proposes a strange choice perhaps given that he has done reasonably well on loan at Fulham this season.
Back in 2017, the Daily Star reported interest from Everton for the versatile defender and it asks the question as to whether they might return to pursue his signature.

The Toffees were led by Ronald Koeman then and he wanted Chambers to bolster up his back line. Whilst he can clearly still do a job in defence, he has shown how solid he can be as a defensive midfielder at Craven Cottage.
Morgan Schneiderlin hasn’t always been in favour under boss Marco Silva, whilst Idrissa Gueye has been linked away from Goodison Park previously.
Chambers’ new role could make him a decent acquisition for Silva in the summer, whilst Arsenal’s desire to offload might see a cut-price deal on the cards.

The 24-year-old is paid £50k-a-week at the Emirates, according to Spotrac, and fits in with Everton’s budget. Given his availability and new-found ability to play in midfielder, the Toffees could do a lot worse than attempt to sign Chambers this summer.
