Report: Arsenal now encouraged that they can actually sign 'incredible' £40m player this summer

Arsenal have been given encouragement in their pursuit of Leicester City midfielder, Youri Tielemans, after apparently opening talks with his agents.

Tielemans is on the radar of a number of Premier League clubs, with Tottenham said to be among the sides looking at signing the Belgian. Arsenal are also known admirers, and there had been reports the Gunners already believed a deal to land Tielemans was highly probable.

And now, according to The Athletic, Arsenal have been offered further encouragement when it comes to signing Tielemans after initial talks with his entourage. It’s reported how meetings with Tielemans’ party have gone well and Edu and the Arsenal side of things are happy with the initial conversations.

The Best XI Already NOT Going To The 2022 World Cup

It’s also claimed that the Belgian could be available at a knockdown price, given he is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract the King Power.

Described as an ‘incredible’ midfield player, Tielemans has been vital for Leicester in recent seasons, scoring the winning goal to win the Foxes the FA Cup.

Tielemans signed for Leicester in 2019 for around £40m. In that time he’s been a key figure under Brendan Rodgers, who will be disappointed to lose his star midfielder.

TBR’s View: Tielemans Can Take Arsenal To New Heights

There won’t be many better midfielders on the market this summer than Youri Tielemans. He ticks so many boxes in terms of what the Gunners need, that he’s in the ‘no-brainer’ category of signings.

Leicester will be absolutely gutted by the thought of Tielemans leaving already. He’s one of the best all-round midfielders in the country at the moment, and has done it in big moments as well.

For Arsenal, signing Tielemans is exactly what they need to kick on and strengthen the squad for any sort of Champions League push.
