‘Of course’: Gabriel Magalhaes says he’s spoken to ‘quality’ attacker about joining Arsenal this summer

Arsenal defender, Gabriel Magalhaes, has admitted that he’s had conversations with Manchester City ace, Gabriel Jesus, over joining the Gunners.

Jesus is being heavily linked with a move to Arsenal this summer. The Manchester City ace is thought to be surplus to requirements at The Etihad, with the signing of Erling Haaland pushing him further down the pecking order. The Brazilian striker has enjoyed a good campaign this year, filling in well for Pep Guardiola in wide areas as well as a number nine.

Of course, Arsenal themselves are desperate to sign a new striker. And in what could be a bonus for the club, it appears that defender Gabriel has been having words with Jesus.

“We joke around in the dressing room, but there’s nothing certain, of course he’s a quality player and if he goes to Arsenal, he would help us a lot,” Gabriel is quoted as saying in El Globo.

The Premier League pair are international teammates. With that, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will no doubt be hoping that Gabriel can indeed get in the ear of Jesus. The Gunners boss is thought to see Jesus as being ideal for his system.

TBR’s View: Arsenal Need Any Advantage Possible To Complete Gabriel Jesus Transfer

After what happened with Dusan Vlahovic in January, you do feel Arsenal need to wrap up the signing of Jesus as quickly as they can. And in all seriousness, having someone like Gabriel trying to put a word in is a bonus for Arteta and Edu.

Players like to go to places for success. But they also like being somewhere they can settle, and Arsenal’s Brazilian contingent can help Jesus do just that.

Arsenal need that striker this summer. Gabriel Jesus is ideal, and if their current defender can help get a deal over the line, then that’s even better.
