Arsenal could unleash 18-year-old 'Deco/Coutinho hybrid' v Forest, fans should be excited - TBR View

Arsenal are in FA Cup third-round action today, heading to the East Midlands to take on Nottingham Forest.

Despite the two teams being in different leagues, the Gunners have taken on the Reds three times in the last six years.

And they’ve all been high-scoring affairs.

The Gunners beat the City Ground outfit 4-0 in the League Cup in September 2016.

However, Forest got their revenge in January 2018, running out 4-2 winners over Arsenal in the FA Cup.

Why We Shouldn't Compare Footballers Based On Their Positions

Then, Arsenal beat the Reds 5-0 in the League Cup in September 2019.

The FA Cup presents a great chance of silverware for Arsenal this season, so Arteta is likely to take it seriously.

However, he does have one issue in terms of his squad selection – the midfield.

Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny are away at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Meanwhile, Ainsley Maitland-Niles has joined Roma on loan.

This leaves Arsenal light in the middle of the park, so there’s a good chance we might see a Hale End star feature there.

According to The Athletic, Salah Oulad M’Hand is travelling with the Gunners squad for the game.

Arsenal fans should be excited about this, as the 18-year-old is an incredible talent.

Salah has been making waves at Hale End since joining on a free transfer in 2020 after leaving Feyenoord’s academy.

He sadly spent most of last term on the sidelines following a stress fracture he suffered near his ankle.

However, Salah’s now fit and has been making up for lost time with superb performances for the Under-23s.

In 14 appearances at age level, he’s registered five goals and three assists.

Salah has regularly trained with the Arsenal senior team and made the bench against Leeds in the Carabao Cup.

A creative, agile midfielder, the Arsenal gem earned some pretty praiseworthy comparisons:

Salah is yet to make his debut, but fingers crossed he comes on – or starts, even – and gives a great account of himself.
