According to a fresh report from the Spanish outlet, Sport, Arsenal could now miss out on PSG defender Layvin Kurzawa.

Despite claims yesterday that the Gunners were close to landing the 27-year-old on a five-year deal, it seems PSG are now moving to keep the Frenchman.

It is believed that PSG supremo Leonardo is keen on keeping the defender now. So much so, that he plans on holding talks with Kurzawa and his representatives to try and get a new deal over the line.

That news is bound to be a blow to Arsenal, who had been hoping to make Kurzawa their first signing of the summer ahead of next season.

Barcelona are also known to be keen on Kurzawa. The full-back is expected to leave Paris after being in and out of proceedings for most of the campaign.

Arsenal were targeting Kurzawa thanks to his availability for nothing. It remains to be seen whether this is a way of PSG trying to get a fee from the Gunners, or if they genuinely want to keep the defender.

Whenever Arsenal get linked with someone lately there seems to either be other clubs interested or something goes awry.

It seems, then, to be the case with Kurzawa, who had looked nailed on to sign just 24 hours ago.

PSG could well just be playing a game of cat and mouse, however. It seems strange for them to suddenly be keen on keeping the defender. Unless, of course, the global situation has forced them into a rethink over their summer plans.

Arsenal will still be keen to land the PSG man ahead of Barcelona, though. You get the impression there might be another twist or two before this one is sorted.
