Arsenal have enjoyed a brilliant summer transfer window so far.

And there’s still a fair bit of time left for the Gunners to add a cherry – or two – on top.

The Gunners have signed their top attacking target in Gabriel Jesus and have landed a midfield gem in Fabio Vieira.

Arsenal have also brought in a superb attacking talent in Marquinhos and cover for Aaron Ramsdale in Matt Turner.

And surely it’s just a matter of time before the Gunners announce Oleksandr Zinchenko’s arrival from Manchester City.

Now, according to Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports – as per GiveMeSport – Arsenal may well look at bringing in another forward.

So far, a new senior winger has eluded the Gunners, with the likes of Raphinha and Raheem Sterling going elsewhere.

Likewise, Moussa Diaby and Serge Gnabry – two reported Arsenal targets – have committed their futures to their clubs.

But there could well be another new recruit in midfield, if a report in The Telegraph is to be believed.

The outlet claims Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans ‘remains a target for Arsenal.’

Mikel Arteta is reportedly ‘the main driving force behind the move, but they have still not made their play.’

‘With only tentative interest at this stage from Manchester United, Arsenal are not in any rush.

‘Tielemans has delayed signing a new contract and is understood to even be reluctant to sign an extension if he does not move this summer.’

Can Arsenal Tielemans gamble pay off?

This is exciting news for Arsenal fans, many of whom think Tielemans would be a top signing for the Gunners.

If he doesn’t want to pen an extension, then Leicester pretty much have to sell him this summer.

The alternative is that they risk losing Tielemans for little to nothing next year.

But with seemingly no interest from other teams, it looks as though the ball is in Arsenal’s court towards moving for him.

Obviously this kind of strategy will always be a gamble. You don’t know if another club will swoop in and make a big bid all of a sudden.

Nonetheless, Arsenal seem pretty confident that they can take their time regarding Tielemans.

Reports earlier this month claimed that the Gunners were readying a £30million bid for the “incredible” player.

Tielemans is a midfielder of the highest calibre, proven in the Premier League, and seemingly available for a bargain price.

If Arsenal do sign Tielemans and add a top-quality winger, they’ll have had a near-on perfect transfer window.
