Arsenal could cap off their transfer business by beating arch-rivals Tottenham to sign a highly-rated winger.

The Gunners have already added David Raya and Riccardo Calafiori to their squad and they are now closing in on a deal for Mikel Merino.

Merino has completed his medical at Arsenal ahead of completing a £27million move to North London.

But with just under a week until the transfer window slams shut, Arsenal are still in the market for reinforcements and they are now reportedly interested in bringing a new winger to The Emirates.

Arsenal could beat Tottenham to £25m winger

After selling Emile Smith Rowe to Fulham for £34million, Arsenal are now lacking in depth up front.

Gabriel Jesus’ groin injury has only worsened the situation. The Gunners can spend the last week of the transfer window now assessing attacking options.

Arsenal could still make a late move for Ademola Lookman with talks stalling with Paris Saint-Germain for the £51million-rated forward.

But CaughtOffside reports that Arsenal are also keeping an eye on Club Brugge’s Andreas Skov Olsen.

Skov Olsen has been linked with a move to Tottenham, with Spurs reportedly following his progress since his spell at Bologna before moving to Brugge in 2022.

The report adds that Skov Olsen’s price tag is set in the region of €25-30m (£25million) and that Arsenal see the 24-year-old as a perfect back-up option to Bukayo Saka.

Skov Olsen compared to Mohamed Salah

If Arsenal fans were not already excited about the prospect of beating Spurs to Skov Olsen, then his comparisons to Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah should get them off their seats.

Danish reporter Klaus Egelund said via Het Nieuwsblad that Skov Olsen can be compared to Eden Hazard, Salah and Arjen Robben.

“He is an Eden Hazard type. But, since he’s left-footed and plays on the right, you could better compare him to Robben or Salah,” Egelund said.

Skov Olsen could join a star-studded lineup of wingers at Arsenal alongside Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
