Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Chris Smalling following an impressive start to his loan spell with AS Roma.
According to a report from The Mirror, the Gunners have been making regular checks on the 31-cap England international.

The Manchester United man has been a rock so far in Serie A, and his performances have also supposedly caught the attention of Inter Milan and Juventus.
Juve’s interest is particularly interesting in that, should they actually beat Arsenal to Smalling, then it could open the door for the Gunners to land one of two players they have been linked with in recent months.
TBR’s view –
Should Juventus sign Smalling, then it will, in theory, further reduce the game time of Daniele Rugani and Merih Demiral.

The centre-halves have played just three games between them in 2019/20, with manager Maurizio Sarri favouring Matthijs de Ligt and Leonardo Bonucci at the back.
Arsenal have been linked with moves for both players, and if they can’t get Smalling – valued at around £18 million by United – then they’d surely be able to take advantage of his move to Turin.
Arguably Demiral is the player the Gunners should be moving for if Juve get Smalling – the 21-year-old is a colossus who possesses the mean streak Arsenal’s defence is currently missing.
