Arsenal are firmly in the hunt for a place in next season’s Champions League. The Gunners are fighting ferociously for a top-four finish, whilst they could still claim a place among Europe’s elite through the Europa League.
It has been a decent maiden campaign for Unai Emery in English football. Ensuring a return to Europe’s top club competition would represent genuine success for the club.
During the summer, Emery will naturally continue his squad rebuilding process. Since arriving at the club the changes he has made have been minor, although the summer could see a bigger squad reshape.

According to Marca, as quoted by Sport Witness, Arsenal are one of several English clubs looking at Ajax defender Noussair Mazraoui. The Moroccan has been in fine form for the Dutch giants this season, helping them reach the last four of the Champions League.
This news doesn’t bode well for Carl Jenkinson, who has recently been given a chance to impress Emery.
Against Crystal Palace, he produced a truly woeful performance, making it apparent why the Arsenal boss wants to pursue another right-back during the summer.
With Hector Bellerin out injured long-term, this was Jenkinson’s real chance to prove he can still have a career at the Emirates Stadium.

His performance at the weekend coupled with the reported interest in Mazraoui simply pushes him closer towards the exit signs in North London.
The Arsenal chapter won’t live fond in Jenkinson’s memory. Since signing from Charlton in 2011 the man paid £45k-a-week (Spotrac) has played just 70 times.
