Santos striker Marcos Leonardo could be available for £20 million in January, with Arsenal reportedly scouting the Brazilian.

That’s according to 90 Min, with the outlet noting that Arsenal are one of many Premier League clubs interested in the forward.

Mikel Arteta is expected to bolster his forward options in January as he bids to deliver a league title to the Emirates Stadium.

Gabriel Jesus has performed well while he’s been available but the Brazilian has struggled with a couple of injuries this term. As for Eddie Nketiah, he’s stepped up well in Jesus’ absence but it’s no secret that Arsenal lack an out-and-out goalscorer.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with the likes of Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney. But Marcos Leonardo is also among their list of striker targets.

Indeed, Arsenal have reportedly already set their sights on Leonardo as Arteta bids to bolster his frontline.

And a fresh report claims he could be available for a modest fee in the winter transfer window.

Arsenal can sign Leonardo for £20 million

90 Min reports that Santos are set to demand a fee worth around £20 million for Leonardo in January.

It comes after his agent has confirmed he’ll be on the move, with Arsenal and Manchester United both scouting the player recently.

The 20-year-old looks set to be the next star to come out of Brazil and has enjoyed an exceptional year with Santos. He’s netted 21 goals in 45 appearances for the Brazilian outfit.

Leonardo has also proven to be a prolific goalscorer for Brazil’s U23s side, scoring seven times in as many games.

Yet, it would be a surprise to see Arsenal take a gamble on the ‘dangerous’ youngster over bringing in a recognised striker.

It feels like the right time for Arteta’s men to make a statement and bring in a goalscorer who’s proven at the highest level as they bid to knock Manchester City off their perch.
