Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has waxed lyrical about Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan ahead of their Premier League clash on Sunday.
The Germany international has been sensational for Pep Guardiola’s side this season, registering 13 goals and three assists in 26 games in all competitions.
Gundogan has been especially impressive in the Premier League, with 11 goals and two assists from just 18 fixtures.

The 30-year-old, who is hoping to be back fit for Sunday’s match with Arsenal, has stepped up in the absence of Kevin De Bruyne.
Arteta, who worked with Gundogan when he was a coach at the Etihad Stadium, is not surprised to see the midfielder shining.
Asked by football.london whether Gundogan’s form had surprised him, Arteta replied: “Well, I think now he’s playing a higher role in the team.
“He’s always had the ability to arrive in the box and has great timing and great qualities to finish the actions. Before he played a deeper role and he had the license to do that.
“He’s a tremendous player and he’s doing really, really well this season.”
TBR View:
De Bruyne’s absence could have been a big blow for Man City, but Gundogan stepped up superbly and helped Guardiola’s side extend their winning streak to a staggering 17 games in all competitions.
Man City are now heavy favourites to lift the title, in the final of the League Cup and still in the Champions League and FA Cup.
And the way they’re playing at the minute, it’s unsurprising to hear discussions amongst fans and pundits over whether they can win the lot.
