- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
TBR football understands that Mikel Arteta really rates an attacker on the continent who is keen on a move to London.
Arsenal have just completed the signing of Riccardo Calafiori and they aren’t expected to rest on their laurels.
Attention will likely turn towards a midfielder, with Real Soceidad’s Mikel Merino high up on their wishlist, though, Barcelona are also keen.
An attacker remains a priority area, too, and with that said, Arteta is thought to hold a £55m-rated winger in very high regard.

Mikel Arteta big fan of Leroy Sane
Speaking exclusively to TBR Football, transfer specialist Graeme Bailey has revealed that Arteta is a really big fan of Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane.
“He’s a player that has long been on their radar – Arteta is a big fan,” Bailey said.
“Believe the player would be keen on a move to London. I know Sane is unsure about his long-term future at Bayern.”
The Germany international has just one year remaining on his contract and having previously worked with Arteta at Manchester City, he could be open to a reunion in North London.
Where Leroy Sane fits in at Arsenal
Sane netted 10 times whilst laying on 13 assists for Bayern last term, operating mainly as a right winger.
That said, if he were to join Arsenal, he’d likely provide Bukayo Saka with direct competition as at the moment, there isn’t really anyone pushing him.
The 28-year-old can also play as a number 10 and on the left flank, where he excelled under Pep Guardiola, who labelled him ‘special’ per the Manchester City website.
