Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta may have just unearthed a secret weapon that can help Viktor Gyokeres out, based on what happened in the Gunners’ clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.

Arsenal lost 1-0 to their North London rivals in Hong Kong, so while the Gunners may have relinquished bragging rights, there will have been plenty of food for thought for Mikel Arteta.

Viktor Gyokeres made his debut for the Gunners, coming on in the 77th minute, but there wasn’t much he could do to turn things around.

Meanwhile, one player who came off at the same time has shown he could provide plenty of ammunition for the Swedish superstar in the form of long-ball deliveries.

Jakub Kiwior’s long-ball deliveries could provide Viktor Gyokeres with many chances

The player in question is Jakub Kiwior, who once again showed that he still has a place in the Arsenal squad with a solid performance.

Aside from looking good in possession and chipping in with numerous defensive contributions, he once again showed off his impressive long-range passing skills.

Kiwior provided a superb cross for Bukayo Saka to score against AC Milan and he played some great long balls in the meeting with Tottenham.

Admittedly, Cristhian Mosquera did look more defensively assured than Kiwior when he came on, so that is something to bear in mind.

However, Kiwior’s great long-ball delivery skills could really help Gyokeres out in terms of setting him up against teams that are difficult to break down.

What the future holds for Jakub Kiwior

At the same time, it remains to be seen whether Kiwior himself would want to stay put at the Emirates Stadium.

TBR Football understands that Kiwior remains keen on leaving Arsenal in search of regular first-team football.

Arsenal fans feel they could get £50million for Kiwior if he was to be sold.

However, with the Gunners hoping to challenge on four fronts next term, convincing him to stay is not such a bad idea.

He’s a solid enough defender and his long-ball skills would work really well with Gyokeres up top to finish off chances.
