Arsenal appear to have received a big boost ahead of the next window, with Spanish outlet Defensa Central reporting that Real Madrid will allow Martin Odegaard to make a decision about his future this summer.
Odegaard’s future looks set to be a talking point for some time to come. He appears to have found his feet at the Emirates following his arrival on loan in January.

Unsurprisingly, it seems that the Norwegian will feature on Mikel Arteta’s wishlist this summer. According to The Times, the Gunners would be interested in extending his stay.
That report added that Arsenal believe that Odegaard may be open to staying. And that may be significant amid reports now coming out of Spain.

Defensa Central claims that Los Blancos still believe that Odegaard could become one of the world’s best in his position. And it is suggested that Zinedine Zidane hopes to convince him that he does feature in his plans at the Bernabeu.
Interestingly however, the report adds that Real will leave the final decision this summer with Odegaard – just as they did in January.
That could be particularly important as the Norwegian has two years left on his contract. So it may not be too long before Madrid has to make a big decision over his future.
If Odegaard decides that he wants to stay at Arsenal for at least another year, Real will surely have to consider a sale at some stage.
That stance would hint that he may not want to sign a new deal at the Bernabeu. So Madrid may feel compelled to cash in before it is too late to secure a significant fee.
