Arsenal attacker now voted as the 22nd best player in world football - he's above Jack Grealish

Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus has now been voted as the 22nd best player in world football, he’s above the likes of Manchester City winger Jack Grealish

Jesus has been brilliant for the Gunners ever since he made the switch from the Etihad Stadium over the summer.

The 25-year-old has helped Arsenal emerge as early-season Premier League title contenders and has really looked the part under Mikel Arteta.

The Brazilian has managed to score five goals and provide six assists in the league for Arsenal this season. While he isn’t the most prolific striker, he’s provided a massive step-up in quality at the Emirates.

And after his eye-catching start to the season in north London, he’s now been ranked in the top-thirty players in the world, above his former teammate Grealish.

Jesus voted as one of the best players in world football

Goal.com asked fans to vote for the best players in world football and have now published the top-50.

Jesus came in at 22nd, above the likes of Grealish who was voted as the 41st best player in the world.

Lionel Messi, Neymar and Erling Haaland rounded off the top-three, with Kylian Mbappe finishing fifth.

Jesus was voted below Tottenham Hotspur stars Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane, but he has been ranked above Liverpool duo Luis Diaz and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Brazilian striker seems to be the missing piece of the puzzle for Arsenal so far and he’s certainly helped to bring the best out of both Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.

Jesus probably wouldn’t have made the top-50 during his time at the Etihad as he played a much lesser role in Pep Guardiola’s side. But he seems to be thriving off being the main man in north London.

It’s a surprise to see Grealish make the list after a difficult first season in Manchester. The 27-year-old has struggled to nail down a place in the City side but has put in some promising displays this season.

Of course, Jesus has suffered his first real setback since leaving City after he picked up an injury at the World Cup. He looks set to be sidelined for around three-months and to seen how Arteta’s side will cope with his absence.
