'Arsenal are there': Romano says Edu now wants to bring 'one of the best talents in Europe' to N5

Fabrizio Romano has spoken of the interest Arsenal have in Mykhaylo Mudryk, in conversation with the House of Champions Podcast.

The transfer insider also gave an insight into the Shakhtar Donetsk star’s attitude and work-rate off the pitch.

Mudryk’s recent comments about Arsenal have set the rumour mill into overdrive.

“From a purely hypothetical perspective if there was the option of being a bench player for Real Madrid or a starter for Arsenal, I’d probably choose Arsenal,” he told Vlada Sedan.

Specifically asked about Arsenal, Mudryk added, “I check on them on MyScore and know I can check on them when they’re playing.

“I also watch them too. They are a very dynamic side, in general not just in controlling possession but also in scoring goals.”

Romano, as one of the top transfer journalists in world football, was asked about Arsenal’s interest in Mudryk.

“Arsenal are there,” he said.

“But it’s about spending and investing on this player who I consider one of the best talents in Europe.

“He is really fantastic and he has an incredible mentality, it’s not just what we see on the pitch.

“The mentality of this boy is something special, he’s training hard every single day, he wants to be a top player and this is an important point when we speak about young talents.”

Arteta wants players with the right work ethic and attitude at N5. Doesn’t matter how big they are name-wise, if they don’t match up, they’re out.

There have been plenty of top prospect over the years who sadly haven’t got to the top of the game because their attitude didn’t match their talent.

However, it looks as though Mudryk will not fall into this category. Which means that, as good as he is, he’s nowhere near his top level.

Arsenal really ought to pull out all the stops to bring him to the Emirates this January.
