Arsenal and Manchester City are now set to compete for the signing of 15-year-old AC Milan striker Francesco Camarda.

Camarda made his first team debut for Milan against Fiorentina this weekend, setting a new Serie A record at 15 years and 260 days.

And given all of the attention his name is now getting, the transfer links have started.

TuttoSport are now reporting that both Man City and Arsenal are interested in signing Camarda in the near future, given he is yet to sign a professional contract with Milan.

The teenager can’t do so until his 16th birthday, meaning other top European sides seem to be sensing an opportunity.

Although, this report does state confidence on both the player and the club’s side that he will sign a contract with Milan on 10th March next year, the earliest possible date.

However, if that doesn’t transpire to be the case, then the Italian will clearly have a ton of high-profile options.

Both City and Arsenal have proven to be excellent environments for youngsters to achieve, and the option may be tempting for Camarda.

Interestingly, an Arsenal player does currently hold the record for the youngest player to appear in the Premier League.

Ethan Nwaneri made his debut at 15 years and 181 days when coming off the bench against Brentford in September 2022 – an ode to the side’s excellent academy.

And although Arsenal are now interested in beating City to Camarda, they would perhaps be better served looking at their own options.

Myles Lewis-Skelly looks to have everything in his game, a 17-year-old that is surely destined to play for England.

And it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise if he was soon trusted with more minutes in Mikel Arteta’s first team.

Camarda would be an exciting signing, even if unlikely, but Arsenal fans would probably prefer a look to their very own Hale End.

An academy capable of producing generational talents like Bukayo Saka.

And speaking of generational, Arsenal have now been strongly linked with a player who could lead the line for any side in the world
